• Once in Ballarat - enjoy a tour of this gracious city with its exquisite gardens and noble statues. View Ballarats historic sites and beautiful Victorian architecture, a thriving monument to the towns golden era of prosperity.
• Onto Sovereign Hill - a recreated goldfields township set over 25 hectares on a site which forms part of the richest alluvial goldfields in the world. Chat to the costumed staff and volunteers, many of whom portray some of the behaviours and prejudices ofthe1850s!
• Visit the Gold Museum – opposite Sovereign Hill – where you can learn more about the history of the gold rush.

• Pan for real gold in Red Gully Creek
• Witness an amazing gold pour
• Shop 1850s-style on Main Street
• Catch a coach ride (own expense) and march with the ‘Redcoat’ soldiers
• Chat with goldfields residents in their tents and huts
• Visit the skilled tradesmen in their workshops and factories - they offer free tours and demonstrations throughout the day
• Take a 10-minute, self-guided underground adventure tour of the Red Hill Mine which depicts the discovery of the 69kg Welcome Stranger, the second largest gold nugget ever found
• Visit the Chinese Village - highlighting the Chinese involvement in the goldfields
• View more than 50 working horses, including Clydesdales & Percherons
• Take a guided tour of the underground mine (own expense)
• Perhaps try some homemade boiled lollies! Maybe a Devonshire Tea at the New York Bakery?
