  • Visit the Gold Museum – opposite Sovereign Hill – where you can learn more about the history of the gold rush.

  • Visit the skilled tradesmen in their workshops and factories - they offer free tours and demonstrations throughout the day
  • Take a 10-minute, self-guided underground adventure tour of the Red Hill Mine which depicts the discovery of the 69kg Welcome Stranger, the second largest gold nugget ever found
  • Visit the Chinese Village - highlighting the Chinese involvement in the goldfields
  • View more than 50 working horses, including Clydesdales & Percherons
  • Take a guided tour of the underground mine (own expense)

The New York Bakery, in Main Street, is a family-style restaurant seating up to 150. The Bakery offers tasty, wholesome snacks, morning and afternoon teas andmainmeals. The United States Hotel Dining Room offers a delicious à la carte lunch menu and seats upto40. The Hope Bakery, on Main Street, is the place to go for delicious pies, pasties and cakes baked in a wood-fired Scotch oven.
