It’s almost that time of year again. The weather is getting warmer, Myer has unveiled their Christmas Windows and shops everywhere are beginning to advertise their yuletide offerings; Christmas 2016 is just around the corner. Present shopping is probably the most irksome and stressful part of the festive season, but it doesn’t have to be.   1. Piccadilly Market

December 3rd and 4th

Deakin Waterfront University, 1 Gheringhap street Geelong

A classic Christmas market shopping experience, Piccadilly Market is all about handcrafted wares made with love. In addition to the 80 stalls selling an array of home wares, clothing, jewellery, artworks, gourmet food, candles and children’s toys, there will also be a kids’ entertainment area to keep your little ones occupied whilst you shop.

  1. Mad Hatters Christmas Party

December 4th 10am-5:30pm

Mornington Racecourse

An unconventional Christmas event, The Mad Hatters Christmas party mixes business and pleasure by combining over 160 stalls with food trucks, a beer garden, and live music entertainment. The event is kid friendly too with plenty of fun activities, and the grounds themselves will be dressed up just like the event’s namesake tea party from Alice in Wonderland.

  1. Avocare Christmas Twilight Market

December 8th 4pm-9pm

Harmony Square, 225 Lonsdale street Dandenong

The Avocare Christmas Twilight Market is an event for the whole family with plenty of fun activities to keep the kids entertained including face painting, a jumping castle, pony rides, performers and live music. There will also be plenty of opportunities for you to get your Christmas shopping done with dozens of local businesses and artisans selling their wares.

 

  1. Ballarat Christmas Market

November 26th 10am-4pm

Sturt street Ballarat

Championing artisanal design and workmanship, The Ballarat Christmas Market is all about supporting local designers by showcasing their talent. Here you’ll find an eclectic mix of independent designers selling jewellery, home wares, clothing and accessories as well as live music and plenty of tasty food.

December 11th 10am-5pm

Federation Square, corner Swanston and Flinders streets

Markit is packed full of fresh, exciting designs that you’re unlikely to find in any store. Expect colourful, quirky, and unconventional clothes, home wares jewellery, ceramics, toys, books and artworks from over 100 of Melbourne’s most promising designers. Sensory Lab and All Day Donuts will also be on the scene to serve coffee and sweets.
