We know that when you are here on holiday (or exploring close to home), sightseeing can really eat into your budget. We want you to be able to see as many awesome places in Victoria as you can — without breaking the bank. With that in mind, we have put together some of our best value tours for you:
Great Ocean Road – AUD88
The Great Ocean Road is often named one of Australia’s top attractions, and with good reason. It is a truly dramatic coastal route that takes in some of the most stunning beaches that Victoria is so famous for. ‘Great’ is a recurring theme on this trip, which takes in some of the world’s largest limestone stacks (The Twelve Apostles) and tallest trees (in Otway National Park).
As part of the tour, you can borrow a free iPod that will give you relevant information along the route, in your choice of several languages. Please be sure to make it clear that you are making a reservation for the $88 Great Ocean Road day trip when you are booking, since it is not the only option available. If you wish to make use of the free iPod, let us know that in advance too.
Penguin Parade – AUD125
This is another of our day trips where there are a few different options available to suit you, including the “Penguin Express”, which simply heads over to Phillip Island to see the parade in the evening and brings you straight back again; it’s great for people trying to fit a lot into a holiday. On the AUD125 version of the tour, you will be picked up in the morning and will have the opportunity to take in a few more sights, including Maru Wildlife Park, where you can get close to kangaroos, koalas, and other native species. This tour also has the option of a free iPod audio commentary that will tell you plenty of interesting facts about the area and its wildlife.
Puffing Billy Half-Day Tour – AUD88
Our Puffing Billy half day tour is a perfect outing for those of you who are trying to make the most of both your time and money on holiday; pickup is early for this trip, but you will be back in Melbourne in time for lunch at 1:00 pm. The highlight is a ride on Australia’s oldest preserved steam railway, Puffing Billy, which travels at a stately pace through the stunning Dandenong ranges. This is another top trip for wildlife, and you can hand-feed the birds along the way with the seeds provided. Although only a half-day tour, it is a long morning, so we throw in a delicious cream tea to keep you going.
