Who are Crowded House?

Crowded House began in Melbourne, in 1985, with founding members Neil Finn (Split Enz, Fleetwood Mac), Paul Hester and Nick Seymour. With a career spanning nearly four decades on and off, Crowded House is now one of Australia’s largest and most iconic rock bands. The band boasts 4x ARIA #1 studio albums and 3x ARIA #2 studio albums, alongside a large swathe of charting singles. 5 of their albums have been certified ARIA platinum, with their debut self-titled album release being certified 6x platinum.

Discography and History

The band has been active on and off for the past four decades. From 1985-1997 saw the release of the first four albums: Crowded House (1986), Temple of Low Men (1988), Woodface (1991), and Together Alone, (1993). These albums included local and international top 10 charting singles such as ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ – which reached #1 in Canada and New Zealand, ‘Better Be Home Soon’ and ‘Everything is Good for You.’ After a ten-year hiatus, the band reunited in 2007-2011 following the death of founding member and drummer Paul Hester (1959-2005). They released two albums Time On Earth, (2007) and Intriguer, (2010). After a brief return for a concert appearance in 2016, the band continued their ‘indefinite hiatus’ until 2019, with the band’s reformation and the subsequent ‘Dreamers Are Waiting’ album release in 2021. The original album release and the tour were supposed to occur in 2021 but were pushed back until 2022 due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Current band members

After the reformation of the band in 2019, the current members include Neil Finn (Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard) and Nick Seymour (Bass, Keyboard & backing Vocals). Mitchell Froom, the band’s original producer from the 1980’s has joined as an official member (Keyboards.) The band’s reformation includes Neil Finn’s two sons, Liam Finn (Guitar, Drums, Backing Vocals), and Elroy Finn (Drums, Guitar, Keyboard, Backing Vocals).

About Mt Duneed Estate & A Day on The Green

A day on the Green has been hosting winery tours across the Australian summer months for over 20 years now. One of the largest hosting venues is Mt Duneed Estate, which is in Geelong, Victoria. The venue has a large capacity, hosting up to 20,000 people, with the winery’s gradual slopes making it a perfect amphitheatre-like location for visitors to view the concert stage. In 2019, the venue hosted none other than Sir Elton John at full capacity, so the location and hosts A Day on The Green are no strangers to organising successful, sold-out tours and massive artists.
