If you have ever queued to get out of a busy car park after a sold-out concert, you will know how much the stress of driving to and from gigs can spoil your experience. Subtract the car from the equation and enjoy going to see your favourite bands by coach. Take as many friends as you like without worrying about how many will fit in the car, and you can all enjoy yourselves without having to worry about the designated driver. Here are just some of the highlights coming up this year:
Rolling Stones – Saturday 8th November 2014
Anyone who has been to see the Rolling Stones live will tell you not to pass up the chance to see these legends perform. Their ’14 On Fire’ tour of Australia and New Zealand will include a concert at Hanging Rock in Macedon. The location is so picturesque that, concert aside, it really is worth visiting. Hanging Rock makes an awesome back drop and is lit up at night.
The Eagles – Saturday 28th February 2015
Another concert at the stunning Hanging Rock reserve, another legendary rock band….The feedback from previous concerts is that “The Rock” offers something a bit special and unique as a venue and it has an awesome vibe. The Eagles are the ultimate nostalgia band, really evoking the feel of the 1970s, and what could be better for a summer concert? Just kick back and enjoy a beer – after all, we’re driving!
Roxette – Saturday 21st February 2015
This brilliant pop duo will be performing at ‘A Day on the Green’ next year, one of our top events. For the past 14 years, the organisers have managed to combine two of our favourite things, good wine and good music, to create the perfect grown-ups day out. It takes place in Rochford Winery, and guests will be able to sample as much Yarra Valley wine as they like while they dance the night away.
Your Coach Experience
On the whole, every concert trip works the same way. The coach will make several pickups, so please confirm your times beforehand and be at the pick-up point promptly. We don’t want anyone getting left behind! Usually, for outdoor concerts you can bring food and bottled water, but no alcohol as there will be plenty on sale at the event. Don’t forget to bring cash, as most stalls at outdoor concerts will not accept card payments. Of course, we shouldn’t need to remind you, but please plan for the weather and bring suncream, hats, gum boots and ponchos as appropriate.
