All ages festival Summer Salt has returned for a full Australian festival tour in 2023, after years of disruptions due to the covid-19 pandemic, and they are bringing a line-up of local favourites and international headliners. Melbourne on the move has partnered with Summer Salt to offer Melbourne bus charter services to the two Victorian festival locations: Yarra Valley & Torquay.
The festival has previously hosted local favourites such as The Teskey Brothers, Birds Of Tokyo, Missy Higgins, Xavier Rudd, Kasey Chambers, John Butler, The Cat Empire and more. As the festival is for all ages, there will be plenty of places to dance in the crowd or sit back and relax with friends and family. Children under the age of 3 can enter free of charge. Angus & Julia Stone:
The sibling indie pop/ folk duo have released 5 studio albums together since beginning the project in 2006. Their latest release “Life Is Strange’ was released in 2021 and featured tracks such as ‘love song’ and ‘take me home.’ Their biggest commercial success came in 2010 with the song ‘Big Jet Plane.’ The single was crowned #1 on the Triple J Hottest 100 for 2011. Since then, they have released other indie pop hits such as ‘Stay With Me’ and ‘Chateau.’
Ben Harper
American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ben Harper has had a decorated career spanning over 3 decades. During his career, he has won 3 Grammy awards across a variety of categories, and the 40th Blues Music Award ceremony labelled his track ‘No Mercy In This land’ Song of the year. His songs mix influences from blues, folk, soul, reggae, and rock music. Alongside critical acclaim, Harper has found commercial success in Australia, with his 2006 album ‘Both sides of the gun’ reaching #1 on the Australia ARIA charts.
City and Colour:
Canadian musician City and Colour (Dallas Green) has been releasing music under a solo alias for just under 20 years. He has released 6 studio albums. 2011’s ‘Little Hell’ was the most commercially successful in Australia, reaching #2 on the charts with ARIA: Gold status. His music falls into the folk and alternative rock category. However, Green is also a member of the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire.
The Rubens:
Australian alternative rock band, The Rubens will also be playing at Summer Salt 2023. Their latest album release ‘0202’ reached #1 on the ARIA charts and included hit songs ‘live in life’ and ‘masterpiece.’ Local fan favourites, their song ‘Hoops’ was #1 on the Triple J hottest 100 in 2015 when it was released.
