A Day On The Green (ADOTG) is a concert event that has been running every summer Australia-wide for seventeen years. As trusted providers of event transportation services, we are excited to be supporting A Day On The Green and its patrons this year. For those who don’t know much about A Day On The Green, today we’re sharing all you need to know about the festival: from tour dates to venue information.
About A Day On The Green
A Day On The Green is an outdoor concert event held Australia-wide at various venues over a number of tour dates. Over the dates, Australian and international artists visit the selected venues for live, single-day shows, accompanied by supporting acts. Think of ADOTG like a single-day festival that happens throughout summer.
It’s not difficult to see why 2018-19 will be the eighteenth year that A Day On The Green runs, either. The selected venues are often set against some of Australia’s most beautiful wineries, which provide the perfect backdrop for midday picnics and stunning sunsets.
2018-19 Victorian Lineup
In the past, ADOTG has featured international household names, such as Elton John, Village People and Alicia Keyes. Renowned Australian artists like Tash Sultana, INXS and The Living End have also been headlining acts for the coveted music festival.
This season’s lineup is no less exciting. Performing at the picturesque Rochford Wines in Victoria’s Yarra Valley are:
John Farnham
John Farnham needs no introduction in Australia. His solo single “You’re the Voice” is a nationally-recognised song that inspires pride, unity and team spirit even today, more than 25 years after its release. John Farnham will be performing at Rochford Wines on the 8th and 9th of December this year.
This year at ADOTG, John Farnham will be supported by Australian rock legends Daryl Braithwaite and Russell Morris, along with Australian pop duo Bachelor Girl and American pop-rock singer Richard Marx.
Florence + The Machine
Florence + The Machine carved out a name for themselves in indie rock after their singles “Shake It Out”, “Sweet Nothing” and “Spectrum (Say My Name)” reached international popularity in 2011-13. Florence + The Machine will be performing at the Mt. Duneed Estate on the 19th of January 2019.
At ADOTG, Florence + The Machine will be supported by rising American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish, whose musical talents were only recognised in the last two years, yet has grown a large fan base in that time. The award-winning singer-songwriter Marlon Williams will also be supporting Florence + The Machine.
Rodriguez
Rodriguez is best known for his single “Sugar Man”, which was released in 1970, yet became popular once again in 2012 when the biopic Searching For Sugar Man was released, and once again in 2014 when the song was remixed and played on mainstream radio. Rodriguez will be performing at Rochford Wines on the 16th of February 2019.
The special guests performing alongside Rodriguez at ADOTG include Australian musicians Xavier Rudd, the Pierce Brothers, Busby Marou and Alice Skye. With such a great mixture of international and local talent, you definitely won’t want to miss this show.
Bryan Ferry
Originally a member of the English rock band Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry became known as a solo artist in 1983. He performed at the iconic Live Aid show only two years later, which kept his then-current album ‘Boys and Girls’ on the UK charts for almost a year. As part of his 2019 world tour, Bryan Ferry will perform at Rochford Wines on the 23rd of February 2019.
More Australian special guests will be supporting Bryan Ferry at ADOTG in February. The local pop and rock groups that will be performing include I’m Talking, Died Pretty and Models.
