Your Essential Guide to Midnight Oil at Hanging Rock

One of Australia’s most iconic rock bands, Midnight Oil surprised fans in February of this year when they announced their first world tour in over two decades. Since mid-April, the group has been travelling around the globe and playing live gigs at some of the world’s top musical venues. In October, Midnight Oil will return to play the last gigs of their “Great Circle 2017 World Tour” on Australian soil.

Midnight Oil at Hanging Rock is part of the group’s largest world tour since their popular late 80’s and early 90’s albums, Diesel & Dust, Blue Sky Mining and Earth & Sun & Moon, dominated the charts around the world. The group will be supported by several talented musical artists, including John Butler Trio, AB Original, Adalita, Apakatjah, Bad/Dreems, Birds of Tokyo, David Bridie, Ash Grunwald, Irrunytju Band, Jack River, Jedediah, The Jezebels, The Living End, Abbe May, Something For Kate, Spiderbait, Dan Sultan, Urthboy, and Frank Yamma. In keeping with the band’s efforts to protect and preserve our planet, several sustainability initiatives will be in place at the concert.

What to bring

There are a few essential items you should have on your check-list for Midnight Oil’s Hanging Rock concert. These include: your ticket, photo ID, cash (there will be no ATMS or EFTPOS facilities onsite), sealed bottled water, sensible footwear (gumboots are recommended if wet weather is forecast), sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a warm jacket. You can also bring some light refreshments, although there will be a variety of food available for purchase. For those with general admission tickets, a rug or deck/camping chairs with low legs sitting no higher than 23cm are permissible. Although chairs are provided in the reserved seating area, no chairs are allowed nor offered in the general admission (front standing) area. Eskies are permitted in the general admission lawn section only.
